Pennsylvania’s Department of Health has published its 2020 state health assessment.
The document, The State of Our Health: A Statewide Health Assessment of Pennsylvania, generally describes the health status of Pennsylvanians today, addresses current health care challenges the state faces, and identifies areas for improvement.
Cast in an overarching framework of health equity and social determinants of health, the assessment is built around eight themes:
- access to care
- environmental health
- mental health
- maternal and infant health
- substance use
- injury and violence prevention
- chronic diseases
- infectious diseases and immunizations
