The following is an update of selected state health policy developments in Pennsylvania from September 7 – September 11 (Some of the language used below is taken directly from state documents).
General Assembly
The following are healthcare-related bills or cosponsor memos released by legislators this past week
- Rep. Brandon Dukes circulated a co-sponsor memo for legislation to establish responsible policies and guidelines on the use of AI in schools.
- Rep. Liz Handbidge released a co-sponsor memo for legislation to require the coverage of preeclampsia testing by insurers.
- Sen. Amanda Cappelletti issued a co-sponsor memo for legislation that would remove religious exemptions from providing necessary medical treatment and/or vaccinations.
- Rep. Bridget Kosierowski introduced HB 2762, which would require coverage of orthotic and prosthetic devices needed to restore bodily functions.
- Rep. Greg Scott introduced HB 2763, legislation creating a statewide guaranteed health insurance program.
Department of Human Services

The PA Health Alert Network is moving to a new platform so current users are encouraged to register with the new platform here to continue to receive alerts.
Stakeholder Meetings
The Department of Health’s HIV Community Prevention Planning Committee will hold its public meetings on Wednesday, November 18th and Thursday, November 19th, both from 9am-2pm.
